My parents have an old school style radio right by the sink where one of the family is usually found doing the washing up. They have it tuned in to their favourite news and music radio stations and I remember listening to Songs of Praise or Classic FM on Sunday mornings or The Archers on the radio in the car on long trips when we were back on furlough. When we were in Pakistan, we tuned into the BBC World Service if we could get it. None of this fancy muckity muck stuff of listening on your computer (which we do) or the auto-tune buttons you have in the car. No, this one is one of those old fashioned dials where you watch the little red line scroll across the frequencies until you find what you're looking for, bearing with all the static and white noise until you get to that clear gem of a sound and your favourite radio DJ.
It's a bit like that with God. It takes hard work and patience to slow down your thoughts and tune into what he's saying, but oh how it's worth the effort.
Happy weekending to you!
